One of the first 'unity schools' founded by the Federal Government, FGC Kaduna is a co-educational day & boarding secondary school that was established in January 1973.

The ethos of the Federal schools is to foster unity by bringing together the best and brightest children from all backgrounds, ethnicities and religions under one roof. FGC Kaduna has a unique position amongst unity schools as it is situated in a state that reflects the true ethnic, religious and cultural diversity of Nigeria. This is representative of the student population.

The school is situated in the Malali area of Kaduna town, and shares a boundary with River Kaduna. There are seven houses named after the great African rivers namely: Nile, Niger, Congo, Volta, Zambezi, Limpopo, and Senegal.  Students currently number approximately 2500, with academic and non- academic staff numbering about 350.

For a relatively young institution, FGC Kaduna has produced some prominent upstanding citizens. As with all unity schools, our school motto is: Pro Unitate (For Unity or Oneness).
